Top 10 Smartest Dog Breeds

Another article I stumbled into just now. I’ve already posted something in response to Dogs Decoded, but here is some extra doggie info.

(This is according to PET360.com)

  1. This was pretty cool. Though most of the breeds I already knew about. My uncle had a border collie named Buddy and that dog knew a lot of things, but his favorite game was wheres the rabbit, basically you’d say “where’s the rabbit Buddy?” and his ears would perk up, and he’d look around. Most of the time it was just to mess with him but sometime he would chase some rabbits on the ranch.

  2. This was really interesting! I didn’t think the Border Collie ranked so high up, but that is still pretty cool. I’m also surprised that there were no terriers on this list, but I am a terrier owner so maybe I’m a little biased haha. I love dogs though, so I really liked this post!!

  3. it is really surprising that every dog is different, correct me if I’m wrong, is the number one list is the same dog that from the documentary “dog decoded”? the dog that can identify the object from the image. and it seems that the list of the smartest dog are mostly quite big in size. so, does that mean that the bigger the dog, the smartest they will be??

  4. I have a Australian shepherd and he is pretty smart compared to my other dog which is a Brittany and Chesapeake bay mix. i would have thought to seen the poodle on that list of top smartest breeds, because i have seen a video about the poodle an how they trained on to read some sign language.

  5. I’m surprised that blood hounds were ranked number 3! The breed never came up in any of the conversations that I’ve had previously when talking about smartest dogs!
